We will use many props, puppets, and instruments to engage your little ones.
Class is Saturdays at 10 am-

COMMUNITY BABY
Care Share
Date night is back with no extra costs!
Care Coordinator: Brittany Steward
mbsteward@gmail.com or 925-
Care Share is an opportunity for parents to exchange child care services with one another. This works if everyone participating is willing to provide care as well as receive care from other parents. Imagine, we can go out on date night and not have to worry about the extra expenses of child care! Plus, we have learned more about each other and our babies at DayOne than most people get to know the local teenage babysitter! So, why not Care Share?!
As easy as 1-
1. Contact the Care Coordinator with dates/times you are available to provide care or when you request care.
2. The Care Coordinator update the calendar to reflect what is available. Updates will be posted on Hilarie’s website. The Care Coordinator will also contact the providers/requesters as needed.
3. From there, it is in the hands of the parent who is requesting care to work out the fine details with the care provider who is available to watch their child(ren).
Care Share Ethics:
Please respect one another and our babies.
Protect contact and child information; please do not distribute info to others without permission from our participating parents.
If you ask for care, you commit to providing care.
This program is still an infant (ha!) Suggestions are welcomed and encouraged.

Cooking Club Inviting Members!
Love to cook? Better yet, love to eat? Join our new cooking club!
Here's how it would work: First you would RSVP that you would like to join. Then once a month, whoever volunteers to host will choose a theme (Mediterranean food, holiday meal, vegetarian—whatever the host would like).
The host will send out an Evite where those attending will sign up for which course
they would like to make-
There we will enjoy a fantastic dinner, share our great recipes, and have some nice conversation! You don't have to be a great cook. Making an easy dish that other moms can make on a weeknight would be great. Or you can go all out and experiment with fancy new recipes. All are welcome!
If you're interested in joining, email me at chinaharvey1@gmail.com.
Book Club Inviting Members!
Looking for an excuse to NOT read that ‘baby related’ book? Need an evening out to converse with other adults? Join our Book Club and don’t worry, no baby related books allowed!
Once a month, the first week of the month will be the timeframe for each Book Club Meeting. At each meeting, the next date will be decided and the Host will select the next book to be read and the time that works best for them. The Host will be responsible for drinks and appetizers for that meeting. We will all take turns, so come join in the fun! If you cannot make some of the meetings, that’s okay! Just email me that you would like to join so that you are on the “Exclusive BOOK CLUB List!”
INTERESTED?: RSVP that you would like to join to (hilarie_hsu@hotmail.com)
The Chef & Mini Chef’s Corner!
Did you all know we have a Chef in our midst? Nancy (Sasha’s Mom) will be kindly contributing recipes that are YUMMY for Adults and also can be converted to be just as YUMMY for Kids! She’ll share a recipe ONCE a month and throughout the month, anyone who would like to also share their recipes, please email them to me at hilarie_hsu@hotmail.com AND post them on Discussion Baby!

From the Mouth of the Chef!
This month’s recipe is: Anytime Frittata
This yummy frittata is great in the morning, lunch, or for an anytime snack!
3/4 cup orzo pasta
7 eggs
1/4 cups milk
1/2 cups cubed ham
1 small yellow onion
2 garlic cloves
1/4 cup flat leaf parsley
1/4 cup freshly grated parmesan ( or more if you love cheese, like me!!)
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375
Bring a small pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the orzo and cook until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain pasta.
In a small frying pan add a small pad of butter. Add the onions and garlic, and saute until translucent. set aside.
In a large bowl, add the eggs and beat. now add your milk, cubed ham, orzo pasta, parsley, onions, garlic, and parmesan cheese. Stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into a baking dish and cook for 20-
This dish is wonderful hot, cold, or even at room temp.!! And is nice served alongside a simple green salad!
LEARNING BABY
Lango is a Spanish, French and Mandarin immersion program for kids. We believe children
acquire language best through their natural way of learning, PLAY! If you consider
how your child began acquiring (and may still be acquiring) their language skills,
you’ll probably recognize that play, mimicry and song were all a part of their learning.
At Lango we use what is most comfortable to our Lango Learners to help them hear,
see and retain a new language, all while having FUN! Our structured curriculum includes
games, music, art, stories and dramatic play, all in the chosen language. We teach

Below is a little more info about LANGO:
Lango is based out of San Francisco, CA and has locations across the US, from L.A.
to New York City. We have recently opened up onto the international stage with classes
in China, using the Lango Method to teach English. While play is at the core of our
curriculum, we also know significant studies have reported that studying a foreign
language over an extended period of time has been shown to accelerate cognitive development,
resulting in higher math and English grades later in life, as well as higher SAT
scores. That may be something that is important to you, or for many others it is
simply the wonderful sounds of another language spoken or the idea of making future
travel for their little ones easier. Our teachers are mostly native speakers and
all have a sincere love of children. Our classes are typically 45 minutes of instruction,
one or two times per week. We believe language skills are retained best when they
are encouraged at home, so we make class materials such as storybooks, flashcards,

Below is a little more info about our METHOD & CAMPS:
At LANGO we use many levels of learning and multiple senses to help children understand and retain a new language. In a typical class they will see, hear and touch the things they are learning. If the lesson is "in" and "out", they will experience in and out in a variety of ways, maybe through parachute play or walking through rings or seeing the puppet Cosmo Dog work through an action. We call this "Adventure Learning" and this approach draws on various methods of teaching languages, including Total Physical Response, the Rassias Method and Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Taken in combination, these methods suggest that kids learn best when their entire person is involved–not just listening and speaking, but moving, singing, dancing, playing, feeling, creating and solving problems. At Camp Lango, we take Adventure Learning a step further, as kids follow the adventures of our characters the Lango Kids, and then go on their own "adventures," challenging activities that they feel great about completing.

Happy Easter! Welcome to the April 2010 calendar! Lots of Playdates coming up and RSVP events so make sure you confirm your attendance ASAP as spaces are limited.
A quick March recap of the fun happenings with many thanks to our March Superstars:
Liz (Sophia’s mom) for hosting the sixth “Book Club” night, we had a lengthy discussion about the depth and backstory of the book while contrasting it to our own interpretations. We had yummy appetizers and brownies while reflecting on deep topics like suicide, mortality and how it affects our decisions as parents these days. “Olive Kitteridge” by Elizabeth Strout was a book which also brought up relationships, between husband and wives, parents and children and even strangers and how relationships are created and develop. It was a wonderful “Parents’ Night Out!” See you all at the next book club meeting, all interested members are welcome!
Tami DeSellier from Tamiland Photography for offering her photography services for family portraits during the month of March.
Margrette (Mariella’s Mom) for sharing her stamping talents with Moms with such techniques like embossing, card making and favor creations too!
Amy (Johnny’s Mom) for sharing her scrapbooking talents with Moms for a Scrapbooking Daytime Event while we learned how to make St. Patrick’s Day cards!
Ros (Soren’s Mom) for sharing her jewelry making talents from Scottish Lily Jewelry for a Mommy and Baby crafting day with a gorgeous necklace created!
Nanette (Grayson’s Mom) for organizing the GO GREEN playdate for St. Patrick’s Day, many of us enjoyed the sunshine at Civic Park, shared sweet treats and fruit while the babies played and the parents caught up!
Fiona (Callum’s Mom) for hosting the Cupcake Appreciation Celebration! 20+ different cupcakes were brought and shared, many to eat there and some to take home, recipes were exchanged and the babies played, it was a sweet afternoon!
To all of the families who came out to play with us for our PLAYDATE of the MONTH at MyGym Walnut Creek & MyGym San Ramon, Tuesday 3/16; Sunday 3/21! It was a huge success and large turnout for each day, join us for the next one! (Photo Gallery Link to Playdate of the Month Event)
Beth (Jack’s Mom) for hosting our fourth “Cooking Club,” it was a fun theme of High Tea in our afternoon event and all of us got to enjoy savory and sweet treats for our afternoon gathering. Mommies and Babies enjoyed a relaxing time with delicious food and an assortment of teas and coffees. Thank you to all for participating and contributing and much thanks to Beth and Jack for hosting. (Photo Gallery Link to Cooking Club Event)
